The phrase “Women Rule the World” may be getting closer to reality than one might think.
At least in the business world.
A recent Fortune article about women entrepreneurs stated that a report found that women owned firms grew 1.5 times faster than the national average.
Who is leading the entrepreneur capitalist charge to start new business?
Women owned businesses in general grew by 74% between 1997 and 2015. At this rate it is still 1.5 times faster than the national average.
30% of all businesses are now owned by women and African American women account for 14% of these businesses.
Privately held women owned businesses have also been driving job growth and have added an estimated 340,000 new jobs to our economy since 2007.
Companies owned by men (equally or shared) have seen their employment numbers decline over the same time period.
With the lack of fair pay, fair promotion and family friendly policies in the corporate world it is not surprising that the women are investing in themselves and starting their own businesses.
African American business are being started all across America with the highest percentage of female black owned businesses in Illinois, Georgia, and Maryland.
Which such organizations as “Women Entrepreneurs of America” and others they are setting about educating women on business development skills, networking and leadership qualities.

It is not hard to see why these great women leaders are creating female inspired products and services.
The Birth of the “MOMPRENEURS”
Mompreneurs is the new label being applied to the moms who have side gigs or are starting lifestyle businesses.
Many of these “Mompreneurs” are stay at home moms running their businesses at home from their kitchen tables.
They have chosen a path that balances personal fulfillment with owning and managing their own business.
Along with being able to provide the quality time and lifestyle for their families.
Today’s women entrepreneurs are flourishing by networking, and developing products or services that women want.
Ivanka Trump is actively working to promote girls and women in the STEM education, computer sciences and business development fields.
Women start up entrepreneurs now have a strong women’s business advocate pulling for them with Ivanka Trump advising and advocating in the White House.
We can expect many more women to both enter the workforce in high skilled high paying positions and start up their own businesses in the not so distant future.
As for the Mompreneur, the word “MOM” now means “SUCCESS”
